Appropriate insurance is a key part of professional practice and provides reassurance that advice is delivered responsibly and with appropriate safeguards in place.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

We maintain Professional Indemnity cover of £1,000,000. This provides protection in the unlikely event that our advice causes a financial loss for a client. For schools and trusts, this means the professional advice we provide, including compliance reports, risk assessments and management recommendations is backed by appropriate indemnity protection.

Public Liability Insurance

Our Public Liability cover of £5,000,000 protects against accidental injury or damage that could occur while we are on site conducting inspections, meetings, or surveys. This ensures that you are not exposed to risk arising from our activities on your premises

If you require copies of our insurance certificates or a certificate of insurance (COI) for your own compliance records, please email office@highwoods.org.uk with your request.

Suitability for School & Education Settings

Insurance arrangements are maintained with the requirements of schools, academies, and education trusts in mind.

This includes:

  • Working within occupied school environments
  • Engagement with staff, pupils, and visitors
  • Activities aligned with safeguarding and health and safety expectations

Evidence of current insurance cover can be provided on request for:

  • Compliance records
  • Contractor and consultant approval processes
  • Governance or audit purposes

Professional Responsibility

Maintaining appropriate insurance forms part of a wider commitment to:

  • Professional accountability
  • Ethical and responsible practice
  • Supporting defensible decision-making for schools

Insurance is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains appropriate to the scope and nature of services provided.
